Details of the event:
The lecture aimed to enlighten 5th-year students on the pivotal role acoustics plays as a specialized service in the design process. The session commenced with Rollins Sir providing a tour of their office, showcasing the effective utilization of limited space through movable furniture, Re use of old furniture, automated lighting fixtures and curtain features.

The lecture kicked off with an introduction to the fundamentals of sound, serving as a refresher for the attendees. This segment delved into the basic principles of sound, elucidating terms such as airborne noise and structure-borne noise, which are instrumental in determining acoustic treatment requirements. Subsequently, various projects were presented, offering insights into the comprehensive design process encompassing different stages of work. it was easy for students to interact with the assistants who were working on different projects and they shared their experience working on site and dealing with client and vendors.

As the session progressed, the audience was acquainted with a variety of materials sourced
From both Indian and international markets. This exposure underscored the industry’s current Advancements, providing students with a real-world perspective.

Outcome & Learnings:
In conclusion, the lecture proved to be highly informative

1) Students gained comprehensive understanding of acoustic design principles.
2) Knowledge in selecting appropriate materials for specific acoustic requirements
3) Practical applications of acoustics and its significance in the realm of design.
